Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi (Heʻeia, Windward Oʻahu)
Restore ancient taro fields and wetlands.
Participate in revitalizing traditional lo’i kalo (taro patches) and native wetlands in He’eia. Activities include planting, harvesting, and removing invasive species, all contributing to the restoration of this culturally significant area.
Mālama Maunalua (East Oʻahu)
Protect marine ecosystems in Maunalua Bay.
Engage in efforts to remove invasive algae and restore native marine habitats. Volunteers help in clearing the bay, promoting the return of native species and improving water quality.
Mālama Loko Ea (Haleʻiwa, North Shore)
Revive traditional Hawaiian fishponds.
Assist in the restoration of Loko Ea, an ancient fishpond, by clearing invasive species and learning about traditional aquaculture practices that sustained Hawaiian communities for centuries.
Papahana Kuaola (Kāneʻohe, Koʻolau Mountains)
Reconnect with Hawaiian agricultural traditions.
Join community workdays to help in the cultivation of native plants and the restoration of cultural sites. Activities include working in lo’i kalo and learning about sustainable land practices.
Travel2Change (Various Locations)
Combine wellness with community service.
Participate in unique experiences like beach cleanups followed by yoga sessions or cultural site restorations. Travel2Change offers opportunities that blend giving back with personal enrichment.
